No purchase is necessary to enter or win. A purchase will not increase your chances of winning. Anyone can vote online for their favorite child with an online $5 minimum donation.

Each child’s photo will appear in a special section in the Opelika-Auburn News, October 19, 2012, online and in an ad that will appear at least once a week during the contest.

Voting will be available online, in the office or mailed in and one free ballot per person per day may be filled out at our office. Voting ballots will also be available in the October 19, 2012 special section and in weekly ads.

Winners will be determined by the total number of votes. There will be one overall winner whose photo will be published on the front cover & in a special pullout insert in the calendar. 12 additional top winners will be placed, one each, on the 12 months of the 2013 calendar. Remaining top vote recipients with at least 100 votes will be placed in the daily calendar squares.

Children registered to enter must be 10 years of age or younger at time of entry to be eligible for this contest. One child per photo. Only one photo entry per child.

If a professional photo is used, you must obtain permission from the photographer.

The Opelika-Auburn News reserves the right to require proof of age.

Winners must participate in photo session with assigned photographer in order to produce a professional quality photo to be placed in the calendar. If guardian can not be reached, they forfeit the right of the winning spot. The next highest contestant will automatically be selected.

Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.

Automated voting of any kind is not allowed. Detection of said automated voting will lead to votes being voided.

The Opelika-Auburn News reserves the right to substitute any prize with another prize of equal or greater value.

The Opelika-Auburn News reserves the right to restrict the local winners to only persons whose primary residence is within a 20 mile radius of the affiliate's' office.

Employees of the Opelika-Auburn News, its respective parent, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising sponsors and promotional agencies, and the immediate family members of each are not eligible.

Contest entrants agree to abide by the terms of these Official Rules and by the decisions of the contest commissioners, which are final on all matters pertaining to the contest.

Entrants further grant to the Opelika-Auburn News the right to use and publish their proper name and state online and in print, or any other media, in connection with the Contest.

The Opelika-Auburn News reserves the right to use any and all information related to the Contest, including information on contestants obtained through the contest, for marketing purposes or any other purpose, unless prohibited by law.

All results posted are unofficial until winners respond to e-mail notification.

Each winner is responsible for all federal, state and local taxes and will be required to complete an IRS form W-9. Sponsor reserves the right to withhold prizes until completed form W-9 is received.

This contest is not intended for gambling. If it is determined that a contestant is using the contest for gambling purposes they will be disqualified and reported to authorities.
